Boston Detective D.D. Warren faces her most brutal adversaries yet—a class of jaded thriller writers—in New York Times Bestselling Author Lisa Gardner’s exclusive e-Book short story
In Lisa Gardner's second short story, after the New York Times bestseller The 7th Month, Detective D.D. Warren takes on her most intimidating assignment yet: a fifty-minute class meant to educate a horde of bloodthirsty thriller writers on the ways of actual police work. Yet sometimes life really does imitate fiction, as D.D. takes the writers through the reality of one of her most twisted cases—a case that involves a seedy motel room, drugs, prostitution . . . and a severed leg. With Gardner’s trademark suspense, sharp observations, and thrilling storytelling, Three Truths and a Lie is a fascinating chapter in D.D.’s storied career. Includes an early look at Lisa Gardner’s next novel of suspense, Find Her, coming February 9, 2016.
I have to admit, this is the first book I read for Lisa Gardner. I arrived at Lisa Gardner pretty late. I know now that I had to start reading her books much earlier. Her book is simply amazing. It’s outstanding how she could pack a fifty pages short story with all the action and suspense of a full length thriller.
D.D. Warren, a Boston detective has to face a class of thriller writers to give them insights into real police work. She doesn’t know how to do it. The best way she thinks is by telling them a real case. There is one condition in this case. The story includes 3 truths and one lie, and they have to find out which is the lie.
A dead man is found in a motel with a missing leg. The leg is found in dry ice in the tub. D.D sets with her team to unfold this case. As she does so she inspects all the people coming in and out of the motel room at that night and whom she knew dealt with the victim.
It was a very gripping short story. I also had the audiobook which is free with the eBook. It was such a satisfying read. I was so focused on the thriller that I almost forgot all about the main question – the 3 truths and the one lie – and was reminded every time a class member speculated a lie. Usually it wasn’t right and D.D would soon tell them why the speculation wasn’t right. At the end. D.D tells them all about the 3 truths and the lie.
I really loved Lisa Gardner’s work. I guess I will be reading all her books from now on. Can’t wait to read her next thriller “Find Her” coming out in February.

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same results.
Will check that out. Thanks
I believe what you said made a great deal of sense.
However, consider this, suppose you wrote a catchier title?
I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your blog, however
suppose you added something that makes people want more? I mean Three Truths and a Lie
(Detective D.D. Warren #7.5) – Mesha's Corner is kinda plain. You should glance at Yahoo’s front page and note
how they create news titles to get viewers to click.
You might add a related video or a picture or two to grab people excited about what you’ve
got to say. Just my opinion, it could bring your posts a little livelier.
Well noted. Thanks
